GIVING BACK

SEPTEMBER/2015:

VOLUNTEER: During the month of August, Doris Hasbun volunteered to work with the administrators of Anchor to Windward (ATW) to organize the office/social club kitchen. Anchor to Windward is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing the full potential of adults with special needs by providing social and recreational programming, in-home support services, and daily living skills training, based in Marblehead, MA.

 

FEBRUARY/2015:

VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTOR: During the month of February, Doris Hasbun participated in a team of two professional organizers in NAPO-New England’s QUANTUM LEAP PROGRAM as the presenter of a two-hour workshop on Time Management for the “Women @ Work” program at St. Mary’s Women and Children’s Center in Dorchester. The class consisted on teaching women time management concepts and tools from Goal Setting to Time Maps and To-Do lists.

 

AUGUST/2014:

VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTOR: During the month of August, Doris Hasbun participated in a team of two professional organizers in NAPO-New England’s QUANTUM LEAP PROGRAM as the presenter of a two-hour workshop on Time Management for the “Women @ Work” program at St. Mary’s Women and Children’s Center in Dorchester. The class consisted on teaching women time management concepts and tools from Goal Setting to Time Maps and To-Do lists.

 

FEBRUARY/2014:

VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT: During the month of February, Doris Hasbun and other parent volunteers assisted the  teacher of a 2nd Grade Classroom, to pack, unpack, organize, sort and label items for the classroom, as they moved into a new school building, Glover School, located in Marblehead, MA.

 

JANUARY/2014:

VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTOR: During the month of January, Doris Hasbun participated in a team of two professional organizers in NAPO-New England’s QUANTUM LEAP PROGRAM as the presenter of a two-hour workshop on Time Management for the “Women @ Work” program at St. Mary’s Women and Children’s Center in Dorchester. The class consisted on teaching 23 women time management concepts and tools from Goal Setting to Time Maps and To-Do lists.

JANUARY/2012:

VOLUNTEER: Doris Hasbun participated with a team of 9 Professional Organizer volunteers from NAPO-NE to improve the space at “The Hadassah Resale Shop” located at 47 Franklin St. in Quincy, MA.

 

JANUARY/2012:

VOLUNTEER: Doris Hasbun participated in the “Ask the Organizer Panel” with NAPO-New England’s Get Organized Month initiative (GO Month) for 2012, at IKEA in Stoughton, MA, during their national Event “Bring Your Own Friend Day”.

 

AUGUST/2011:

VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTOR: During the month of August, Doris Hasbun participated in a team of four professional organizers in NAPO-New England’s QUANTUM LEAP PROGRAM to deliver two-hour workshops on Money Management, Paper Management and Time Management for the “Women @ Work” program at St. Mary’s Women and Children’s Center in Dorchester.  She presented the workshop on Time Management, teaching the students related concepts and tools from Goal Setting to Time Maps and To-Do lists.

 

JUNE/2011:

DONATION OF SERVICE: Doris Hasbun donated her services to a local fundraiser: “The 2011 Auction and Regatta to benefit Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston”, consisting of “A 3-Hour Consultation of Professional Organizer Services for Home or Office”.

 

MAY/2011:

ASK THE ORGANIZER:  On May 21st, Doris participated in a community outreach event with a group of NAPO-New England Professional Organizers partnering with IKEA’s Life Improvement Project, at their facility in Stoughton, MA.  The Professional Organizers were stationed around the store imparting 15 minute workshops and giving organizing tips to IKEA customers.  Doris teamed up with Marilyn Cruickshank of Creative Simplicity in IKEA’s Home Office department explaining 10 steps for “Making Your Office Work for You.”  The following link shows a video clip for tips about setting up a mail processing center.

JANUARY/2011:

VOLUNTEER: Doris Hasbun participated in NAPO-New England’s Get Organized Month initiative (GO Month) for 2011, with a group of professional organizers volunteering their services at the Northeast ARC’s Cape Ann Early Intervention Center in Beverly. Northeast ARC  is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing lifelong support to people living with disabilities.  See pictures here.

 

NOVEMBER/2010:

VOLUNTEER: Doris Hasbun donated her time and knowledge by presenting an Organizing Workshop to a group of Fifth Grade students at the Village School in Marblehead, MA, teaching them basic principles of organization.

 

JUNE/2010:

DONATION OF SERVICE: Doris Hasbun donated her services to a local fundraiser: “The 2010 Auction and Regatta to benefit Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston”, consisting of “A 3-Hour Consultation of Professional Organizer Services for a Residential Assessment and Written Action Plan”.

 

APRIL/2010:

VOLUNTEER: Doris Hasbun donated her time and knowledge by presenting a Workshop about the Basic Principles of Organization to a group of secretaries, accountants and corporate assistants at Luis Kafie & Co., in Honduras, as part of their continuing education program.
